Russell “Jack” Cooke, 76, passed away in Sagle, Idaho on Sunday evening, January 2, 2011.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm, Friday, January 7th in Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel. Dale Coffelt will be officiating with interment in Pinecrest Memorial Park
Visitation will be on Thursday, Jan, 6th, from 12 noon until 6 pm at Coffelt Funeral Service.
Jack was born on February 6, 1934 in Hope, Idaho the son of Henry and Doris Cook. He attended school in Clark Fork and had operated his own logging truck, hauling timber out of the woods. On August 2, 1958 he married Audrey A. Collinson in Superior, Montana.
He worked, as a mechanic, for Louie Crosswhite and at the Pack River Mill in Dover. In 1969 he started with Sandpoint Motors and worked there until his retirement.
Jack was a former member of the Panhandle Historical Auto Nuts car club. He enjoyed restoring, painting, and showing his antique cars. He also operated Jack’s Barn-Mar-Shed buying, selling, and trading anything of value.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Audrey Cooke in Sagle;
3 sons Larry (and Bonnie) Cooke, Michael Cooke, and Fred Cooke, all in Sagle; 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Also surviving are 2 brothers Thomas Cook in Denver, Co; and John Cook in Nevada; 2 sisters Ina May Wagner and Sarah Ann Cagle, both in Kellogg, Idaho; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Kenneth and a sister Virginia Lorenzo
