Dale Miller, 75, went on to be with his beloved Lord on January 13, 2011.
Dale was born on Feb. 22, 1935 in Dupree, South Dakota, the son of Martha and Everett Miller. They moved to Priest River, Idaho when he was three years old, where he grew up. He married Jeanne Plett in 1954. He and Jeanne moved to Clark Fork, Idaho in 1956 and they had four beautiful children, David, Roger, Cynthia and James.
Dale had a wonderful talent and sang and recorded many wonderful songs, for which he will be forever remembered. He could do anything. He and his wife Jeanne traveled from New York to California, recording and performing, retiring to twenty years of prospecting and gold mining. In between he owned two restaurant/taverns, was a logger, construction worker on three dams and lastly, in the stock market business. He did it all, climbed every mountain, crossed every river, loved to fish and loved the outdoors. He will leave a void that can never be filled. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He is survived by his wife Jeanne of 56 years, four children, seven grandchildren, and seven great grand children. He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Martha Miller of Priest River, grandparents, Jesse and Maggie Miller, Jennie Wuennecke, two nephews and one grandson, Billy, that died at childbirth.
He loved Jesus. He rests in God’s arms until we all meet again. Like one of his songs said, “I staked a claim in heaven and it’s just like Idaho.”
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00PM Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Living Hope Free Methodist Church, 701 Jackson Ave in Priest River, ID, with a potluck to follow. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery.
