Jerry Raymond Taylor 59, of Sandpoint passed away Wednesday Jan. 26, 2011 at his home.
Private family services will be held at a later time.
He was born July 12, 1951 in Sonora, CA the son of John and Rebecca Taylor. Shortly thereafter the family moved to Sutter Creek, CA where Jerry went to school and in 1969 graduated Sutter Creek High School. He then went to x-ray school and graduated as a radiologic technologist in June of 1971. After working in California for several years he moved to Jackson, Wyoming where he met his future wife, Michelle Nader. Jerry and Michelle traveled around the United States finally settling in Colorado. They moved to Sandpoint in 1979 where Jerry worked at Bonner General Hospital until his retirement in June of 2010 due to ill health. After 18 years of marriage their son Jesse L. Taylor was born. Jesse was the light of his dad’s life. Michelle and Jerry later divorced but the focus of their lives remained on Jesse. Together they shared in raising him.
On August 21, 1996 he married Donna Patterson. They enjoyed long walks, gardening and camping together. They divorced after 9 years of marriage, but have remained very close friends. Donna provided tender loving care for Jerry until his death from cancer.
Jerry loved to cook for his family and loved taking care of his garden and home. He was a man of many gifts and interests and enjoyed riding his Harley. He created exquisite stained glass artwork and enjoyed woodworking.
Jerry is survived by his wonderful son: Jesse (Alicia) Taylor; 1 brother: Ray Taylor, his two ex-wives with whom he has remained friends; 1 niece and 1 nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents 1 brother and 1 sister.
