Hilda Constance Van Schravendyk, 97 passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2011. Family funeral services were held on Friday in Coffelt's Funeral Chapel. Dale Coffelt officiated with burial to be in Pinecrest Memorial Park. Hilda was born on April 20, 1913 in Spokane, Washington the daughter of Nels and Bertha Evans. The family moved to Kootenai when she was 3 years old. Kootenai has been her home for 94 years. She attended the Kootenai School and Sandpoint High School. She married Richard Brown and he preceded her in death. She was a member of the Kootenai Ladies Aid, the Better Community Club, and was involved with 4H. She later married Paul Van Schravendyk and they enjoyed spending winters in Yuma, AZ. He also preceded her in death. She enjoyed taking time to do craft projects. Hilda is survived by her daughter in law Patricia Brown in Hayden, ID; her son Bob (and Joann) Brown in Kootenai; 2 daughters Carole Mitton in Sandpoint; and Kathryn (and Chuck) Conway in Monticello, NY; 12 grandchildren Roger (and Lana) Brown in Sunnyside, ID; Debbie (and Matt) Scribner in Priest River, ID; Sue (and Al) Beltran in Lompoc, CA; Mike (and Carol) Brown in Kootenai, ID; Peggy (and Shayne) Brown-Weable in Sandpoint, ID; Rick (and Kellie) Brown in Kootenai, ID; Jim Brown in Kootenai, ID; Tom (and Raquel) Brown in Kootenai, ID; Kristin Mitton in Sandpoint, ID; Chris, Jim, and Amy Conway in Monticello, NY; numerous great grand children and numerous great great grand children; her sister Julia Roth in Oaksdale, CA. She was also preceded in death by her brother Rungvald, a son Richard, and a great great grand son.
