Lucille Kathryn Walker, 83, passed away in Sandpoint, Idaho on Tuesday, April 10, 2007.
The Memorial Mass will be conducted at 11:00 AM. Wednesday, April 18, 2007, in St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Father Dennis C. Day officiating.
Lucille was born on March 17, 1924 in Los Angeles, CA; the daughter of Milo and Mildred Tanger. She graduated from Leuzinger High School and married Alva D. Walker on Dec. 14, 1941. They lived in Hawthorne, CA and adopted 3 girls that she loved very much.
Alva retired in 1978 and they moved to Sandpoint, ID. She was very involved in the Catholic Church and volunteered for the food bank, Sagle thrift store, and the church.She loved St. Joseph's and Father Day, who took good care of her.
Lucille was very generous, taking great joy in her family, in children and always remembered birthdays and special occasions. Lucille took great care of her husband Alva.
She was famous for her fried chicken and blackberry jam. While we can never replace our mom, we can carry her in our hearts forever.
She is survived by -- Husband Alva Walker, 3 daughters Susan Visco, Bernice Martello, and Drenna Walker; her sisters Margie Hocken Berry and FerBa Weitzel; 11 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and special friends.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Life Care Center, the Doctors of Sandpoint that cared for her and the Cancer Institution of Coeur d'Alene.
