Elizabeth Hornby

Elizabeth “Betty” Hornby, 80, passed away on Monday, April 23, 2007 in Sandpoint, Idaho. A visitation will be held from 12-6 pm, Friday, April 27, 2007 at Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel, 109 N. Division Ave., in Sandpoint, Idaho. Memorial services for Betty Hornby will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 5, 2007 in the First Lutheran Church in Sandpoint. Pastor Dave Olson will officiate. Betty was born in Warren, Ohio on July 25, 1926. The family moved to Rapid City, SD where she graduated from high school in 1944. She attended college in Sioux Falls, SD and married Harry Hornby on Aug 7, 1946 in Rapid City, SD. While in Rapid City she worked, as a secretary, for the school district. In 1984 she moved to the Vay/Edgemere area and retired, later moving to Sandpoint, ID in 2001. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church and was active in the work of the church. She enjoyed her flower and vegetable gardens, baking cookies for family and friends, sewing, knitting, and crocheting. She is survived by her husband Harry Hornby of Sandpoint, Idaho; 3 children Ben Hornby of Priest River, Idaho, Dan Hornby of Priest River, Idaho and Tom Hornby of Sandpoint, Idaho; 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Betty was preceded in death by her parents.
