Frances Louise Reed

Frances Louise Reed, 89, of Sandpoint, died Saturday, April 2, 2011 at Valley Vista Care Center. Private family services will be held at a later time. She was born Nov. 7, 1921 in Dixon, Illinois the daughter of Ralph and Dorthea Ruppert. She was raised in Dixon and later in Sandpoint where she finished her schooling. She married Carl B. Reed in Sandpoint on October 12, 1946. In the 1960’s they fished commercially for Blue Backs on Lake Pend Oreille. She later worked in housekeeping at Bonner General Hospital until her retirement in the early 1980’s. She was a wonderful homemaker for her family, enjoyed fishing, gardening, and sewing. A gift she shared with her family and many friends. She is survived by 2 daughters: Jo Ellen Thompson of Sheridan, Oregon, Rhonda Van Rossum of Sandpoint; 10 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren; and 2 sisters Katherine Dixon of Spokane, and Laura Koenig of Ello, Hawaii. She was preceded in death by her husband, 2 sons Curtis and Allen; 1 grandson, Douglas Thompson; 1 brother, Fred, and her parents.
