Vera “Dolly” Darlene Bromage Thompson, 70, of Sagle, died Friday, April 8, 2011 at home.
Memorial services for Dolly will be conducted 11:00AM, Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Christ Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, with Pastor Steve Nickodemus, officiating.
She was born Dec. 13, 1940 in Newcastle, PA the daughter of George and Vera Holzhauser. She moved with her family to Bloomington, CA in 1950 where she completed her schooling. She moved to Priest River, Idaho 30 years ago and to Sagle in 2006.
Dolly married Richard Dagnall, Sr. and they had two sons before he died of cancer shortly thereafter. She was married to Kenneth Bromage who died of cancer and later married Robert Thompson who also died of cancer.
At the age of 21 Dolly managed a ten story retirement home in Long Beach, CA. She was involved in real estate for many years, was an accountant, and for the past 16 years had a booth at the Sagle Flea Market.
In her early years Dolly was a member of the L.A. Thunderbird roller derby team. She enjoyed ballroom dancing, bowling and all types of table games (bingo, and mahjong), enjoyed suduko. She was an animal lover and tended to those that came to her home. She was a lady with a big heart who was always helping and serving others. She was a member of Christ Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.
She is survived by 2 sons: Richard Dagnall, Jr. of Dallas, TX, Ronald Edward (Rochelle) Dagnall of Folsom, CA; 2 sisters: Clara Ann (Glen) Merrill of Riverside, CA, Lorraine Ruth Sturdivant of Arnold, CA; 9 grandchildren; her dear friend Dorothy Kohne and many other special friends. In addition to her husbands she was preceded in death by her parents, and 1 brother.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Bonner Community Hospice, and all the care givers who have so tenderly cared for Dolly.
