Ann Mae Miller (74) died at her home May 5, 2011, in Sagle, Idaho. She was born May 3, 1937 in Butte, Montana, the daughter of Vern and Ann Sloan of Thompson Falls, Montana. Ann had five children, Alan, Rhonda, Vern, Deanna, and Darla from her marriage to Leroy Edward Schock who preceded her in death in 1966. She later married on August 8, 1969, to her beloved husband, Arthur F. Miller, who brought with him four children of his own, Mike, Laurel, Jolene, and Leora. This large family was the center of her world. Her love for Christ and her family were the foundation of her being. She touched the lives of anyone who came in contact with her.
Her love of family pushed her into genealogy, where she and Arthur produced numerous books on their large combined families and on publication of books relating to Sanders County, Montana. Her talents were many, from singing to her children and grandchildren; cooking for an army; fixing anything from a cut to a broken heart; and all the while doing it with great love and laughter. Ann was known for her love of travel, and she and Art traveled much on a global scale.
Mom is survived by her husband, nine children, 25 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, her first husband, Leroy and her parents.
She will be missed by her husband, children, grandchildren, friends and family. She was one of the best that the good Lord has produced, and we should not be sorrowful with her passing, but we should be enriched by her having been in our lives. The one thing Ann would want us to remember about her is that she loved us all dearly.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00AM, Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at the 1st Christian Church, with Pastor Kyle Bostock, officiating. There will be a viewing for Ann at Coffelt Funeral Chapel, on Monday from 2:00-6:00PM.
In lieu of flowers, any donations should be made to the Gideon Organization through your local church.
