Ellen Pringle, 78, passed away in Sandpoint on Wednesday, June 29, 2011.
Graveside services will be conducted on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at 3:00 pm in Clark Fork City Cemetery.
Ellen was born April 14, 1933 in San Francisco, CA. the youngest daughter of Donald and Nellie McAngus. She was the first born in United States after her father, mother and sisters Jenette and Elizabeth had immigrated from Scotland.
She worked in a bakery as a cake decorator for several years in her youth before having children. She always talked about the good times she had down at Fisherman’s Warf and so many thing to do in San Francisco. As a kid going to watch the minor league S.F. Seals play and watching the war ships come in and out of the bay.
During WWII she loved listening to Elvis and Tom Jones, and later Dale Miller. She was a Cub Scout den mother for a few years and a little league mom. She always had the juice and the cookies.
She moved to Clark Fork in November 1972 with her husband Andy and their four children and purchased the Old Cabinet Lounge Bar, where she met many new friends and eventually new family members.
After Ellen and Andy split, she fell in love with Bill Hummitch and they stayed together until his death. After that mom’s best friend was her daughter Lynn. She looked forward to seeing her every day and Dr. Lawrence who provided care for her for 30+ years. Thank you both so much.
She is survived by her son Dennis (Gayle) Pringle; daughters Kristine Bustos, Lynn (Dwight) Pringle; grandsons Joshua Crill, Brian Pringle; granddaughters Dennise (Justin) McMillan, Stephanie Crill, Amy Crill, Krystal Hepinstal; great grandchildren Nicolas, Jordan and Nolan; two sisters Elizabeth and Jeanette; one niece Carol; and three nephews Don, Fred and Gary.
Ellen is preceded in death by her parents, son Kenny, two grandsons Jason and Danny and her partner Bill Hummitch.
