Merton L. "Mert" Wardal, Sr.

Merton L. “Mert” Wardal, Sr., 77, passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2007 in Sandpoint, Idaho. A visitation will be held from 9 am to 1 pm, Saturday, June 9, 2007 at Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel, 109 N. Division Ave, Sandpoint, Idaho. Graveside Services with Military Honors provided by Army Echoes will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, June 9, 2007 at Pinecrest Memorial Park Cemetery. Mert was born on December 31, 1929 in Dodge Center, Minnesota. He retired from the United States Army in 1970, where he served his country for 22 years. He was the manager for the Eagles Lodge two separate times. Mert was a great husband, father, grandpa, great grandfather and great-great grandfather. He is survived by his wife NadeanWardal of Sandpoint, Idaho; 2 sisters Arlene Benyhoff of Florida and Bev Wardal of Minnesota; 1 Brother Ron Wardal of Arizona; 2 Daughters Connie Camp of Texas, and Susan Reed of Post Falls, Idaho; 1 son Merton Wardal, Jr. of Spokane, Wa.; Step-daughters Yvonne Bohrn and Debbie Inman of Sandpoint, Id.; 2 step-sons David and Gary Bohrn of Sandpoint, Id; as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Mert was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother Dick Wardal of Texas.
