Iris A. Johnson, 79, of Sandpoint, died Sunday, July 31, 2011 at her home.
Graveside services will be conducted 10:00AM, Saturday, August 6, 2011 at Pack River Cemetery.
Iris was born February 13, 1932 in Craig, Nebraska the daughter of Benjamin and Rosa Eby. She moved to Fontana, California as a child where she was raised and attended schools. On Sept. 8, 1947 she married Floyd Johnson in Yuma, Arizona. They resided and raised their family in Fontana. Following Floyd’s retirement they moved to Sandpoint in 1984 where she has since resided.
Iris was a talented, gifted creator of fine handiwork items. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and doing embroidery. However the greatest joy she found was in being a wife, mother and grandmother. She exuded unconditional love and kindness to all with whom she came in contact.
Iris is survived by 6 children: Kenneth (Barbara) Johnson, Cookie Johnson, Rosemary “Rosie” (Bill) Brinkmeier all of Sandpoint, Floyd D. “Butch” (Bonnie) Johnson, Jr., of St. Helen’s, OR, Pamela J. Johnson of Tennessee, Michael D. Johnson of Fontana, CA; 1 brother: Benjamin (Mary) Eby; 14 grandchildren: Debbie Johnson, Donna Roundy, Dianne R. Brauer, Doug Johnson, Vanessa Johnson, William Johnson, Jessica Johnson, Brian Brinkmeier, Alan Brinkmeier, Brad Johnson, Tim Johnson, Taylor Johnson, Jamila Vernon, Brandina Kettle; 21 great grandchildren, and 2 Great Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and 1 brother.
