Freda R. Shaver, 86, of Sandpoint, died Friday, August 5, 2011 at Valley Vista Care Center.
Graveside services will be conducted 11:00AM, Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Lakeview Cemetery, with Pastor Jon Pomeroy, officiating.
Freda was born March 2, 1925 in Hughson, CA the daughter of Frederick and Evelyn Palmer. She was raised with her siblings in Hughson, and graduated high school there. Following a long distance courtship she married Dale Shaver on July 2, 1945 in Hughson, CA.
In 1951 they moved to Sandpoint and purchased their home in Ponderay in 1953. Freda worked in the bakery department for Joe Rogers, at M & J and later Les Rogers, retiring in 1986.
Freda was good Christian lady. She had a variety of interests from golfing, fishing, doing crossword puzzles, crocheting, knitting, doing suduko puzzles, and playing bingo and pinochle.
She is survived by her son: Robert (Barbara) Shaver of Sandpoint; 5 grandchildren: Kimberly (John) Felts of Spokane, WA, Stephanie (Alvin) Brown of Sandpoint, Chad Shaver of Grand Coulee, WA, Roberta (Ben) Cestnik of Belgrade, MT, Jonathan Shaver of Chicago, Illinois, 8 great grandchildren; her sister-in-law: Nellie Shaver of Ponderay, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Shaver in 1989, her parents, 1 daughter, Diana in 1947, and by her siblings.
