Kim Brad Hull

Kim Hull, 52, of Sandpoint, passed away on June 18, 2007 after an epic 22-year battle with cancer. He died at home, surrounded by those he loved most in this world. Memorial services for Kim will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, June 30, 2007 at Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel, 109 N. Division Ave., in Sandpoint, Idaho. Kim was born in Sandpoint on April 28, 1955. He attended Lincoln School and Sandpoint High School, where he played football and wrestled. Kim graduated from Sandpoint High in 1973. Kim met his wife, the former Lisa Hauck of Bonners Ferry, in the fall of 1981. They were married in 1989. Kim and Lisa had many shared interests, especially a love of the outdoors and they made many fond memories at hunting camp. Kim was an avid outdoorsman, a dedicated angler, a gun collector, an expert marksman and a master hunter. In the years after his illness was diagnosed, he would insist to his doctors that his surgeries be scheduled around hunting season. Kim was very generous with his encyclopedic knowledge of the North Idaho backcountry and was quick to share the best hunting and fishing spots with anyone who asked. Over the years, Kim was employed at Tenex, Pack River Lumber, WI Wood Products, Spokane Lumber, Meritts Lumber, and most recently worked as a supervisor at Henkels and McCoys in Sandpoint. Kim was first diagnosed with cancer in 1985 and his fight against the disease would help define the rest of his life. Kim had an almost unimaginable physical toughness and strength of character; over the next two decades he endured nine surgeries and almost two years of chemotherapy. The fact that he not only survived, but thrived in the face of such an aggressive disease confounded the best minds in medicine and earned the admiration of all who knew him. Kim was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Cecil and Cleora Skinner and his paternal grandparents Ben and Nina Hull. He is survived by his wife Lisa, his parents, Milo and Ruth Hull, his brother Kurtis Hull and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
