Janet Luella Ford

August 18, 1953 — September 12, 2011

Janet Luella (Paulson) Ford, 58, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 12, 2011. Janet was born August 18, 1953 in Minot, North Dakota to Pearl Esther (Phinney) Paulson and Dywaine Merlin Paulson. She was the second oldest of seven children. Janet moved from Minot to the Coeur d’Alene/Post Falls area in the early 1960’s. Janet was married on June 29, 1974 to Terry Ford in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. They had a daughter, Kristy, on July 29, 1977. They relocated to Sandpoint in 1986, where her husband still resides. Janet was an avid collector of vintage Barbies and jukeboxes. She was fond of all God’s creatures, having taken care of many animals during her lifetime, as well as being an avid supporter of the Panhandle Animal Shelter. Janet was a classic car enthusiast, participated in the Injectors car club, and enjoyed going for drives in their most recent project, a 1963 Pontiac Catalina. Though Janet had many interests, she reveled in her greatest pastime, doting on her beloved granddaughter, Grace. Of utmost importance to Janet was her devotion to family and friends. Anyone who knew her is blessed to have experienced the incredible thoughtfulness, tremendous heart and selflessness that embodied who Janet was. Janet is preceded in death by her father Dywaine, step father Jess, brother Jim, brother in law Gary and niece Michelle. She is survived by her husband, Terry; son Mark Holm; daughter and son-in-law Kristy and Brandon Ondrey and granddaughter Grace of Key West, Florida. She is also survived by her mother Pearl Lee, sister Bonnie (Ron) Christanson, brother Dywaine (Sue) Paulson, Diane (Bob) Lontz, Kathy (Brett) Vantine, Vicki (Dave) Bonasera. Janet was a loving and devoted wife, caring daughter, wonderful mom, world’s best grandma and supportive sister. Her sparkling smile, warm heart, caring personality and willingness to help anyone will be missed greatly. She was a compassionate and genuine person who was loved by many and missed by all who knew her. A celebration of life is planned on Saturday, September 17, 2011, from 12 noon until 3pm, at the Bonasera residence. All who knew and loved Janet are encouraged to attend and share their fond memories. The address is 3226 N. Alta CourtCoeur d’Alene, ID 83815 In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made to Panhandle Animal Shelter in her honor.
