Patricia Colleen Murphy

Patricia Colleen Murphy, 64, passed away on Monday, Sept. 12, 2011 in Sandpoint, Idaho. The vigil Rosary service will be held at 7:00 pm, Wednesday, October 19th, in Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel. The Memorial Mass will be conducted at 11am on Thursday, October 20th in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Father Dennis C. Day will be the officiant Pat was born on October 12, 1946 in Alameda, California the daughter of Pat and Barbara (Wallin) Murphy. The family moved to Phoenix, Arizona when she was a child where she attended local schools, graduating from Arcadia High School. In 1974 she moved to Denver, Colorado and in 1976 to Bailey, Colorado. She has made her home in Sandpoint, Idaho since 2004. Pat was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, the Bonner County Gardner’s Association, and the Bonner County Republican Women’s Association. She enjoyed all wildlife especially the birds, and her pets. She loved to cook and could recreate a new recipe from taste. She maintains a large cookbook collection. Her garden was part of the 2010 Garden Tour in Sandpoint. Pat is survived by her brother Michel Murphy, her niece Shonda (and Brad) Layous, her nephew Bryan Murphy, and 2 grand nieces; all living in California; and her lifetime friend Carolyn Minnick in Sagle, Idaho. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved Newfoundland, Gus.
