Jack Carr Lane, 67, passed away in Sandpoint, Idaho on Tuesday,
September 27, 2011.
Family services will be held at a later date.
Jack was born in Rahway, New Jersey on July 23, 1944 the son of Jack and Helen Lane. He graduated from high school and the Cumberland College in Williamsburg, Kentucky. He married Janet J. West on Aug. 12, 1967 in Bioloxi, MS.
Following college he joined the US Air Force and earned his masters degree, in computer science, from Texas A and M. He retired, as a Lt Colonel, from the Air Force after 20 years service in 1986. He lived in Upper Marlboro, MD and worked for IDA, in computer technology. He retired, for the second time, in 2000 and moved to Sandpoint, Idaho.
Jack was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Upper Marlboro, MD. He loved to travel and traveled throughout Europe in a travel trailer with his family. He also enjoyed boating on Lake Pend O’reille.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years Jan Lane in Sandpoint; his son Guy (and Nadja) Lane in Fredrick, MD; his daughter Sarah (and Mark) Butts in Sandpoint;
3 grandsons Lane and Gibson Butts and Tristan Lane; 2 brothers Harry lane in Corbin, KY; David Lane in Arkansas; a sister Lois Wall in Lexington, KY; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Madelyn.
