A viewing for Hattie Elizabeth Long, long time Sagle resident, will be held on Friday, Nov. 4th, from 12 noon until 2 pm at the Coffelt Funeral Service Chapel. She died on Oct. 26, 2011 at the home of her son Mike, in Post Falls.
Hattie was born in Lewiston, Idaho on Feb. 3, 1929, to Thomas Roy Cork and Elsie Aurette Barnhart Cork. She was known to her family and many friends as “Peep,” because her mother called her Bo-Peep as a child and her baby brother shortened the endearment to “Peep.”
She married Glen E. Long in Sandpoint in June of 1948, and the couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1998. They lived on Talache Road, Sagle, Idaho, throughout their married life.
Hattie volunteered for many years at the Sagle Thrift Store. She loved the outdoors, especially fishing and antelope hunting at Leadore, Idaho. She also loved and grew beautiful flowers.
She is survived by her husband, Glen, at their Sagle home; one son Michael Glen Long, Post Falls; and a daughter Virginia Gayle Moran, of Spokane, Washington; three grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and a great-great grandson. She will be greatly missed by all.
Hattie was preceded in death by her three siblings, and a half brother and several half-sisters.
A luncheon will be served at the conclusion of the viewing, at the home of Rachel Montgomery in Sagle.
