Marnie Higgins, 73, of Elmira passed away Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2011 at Bonner General Hospital.
Memorial services will be conducted 4:00PM, Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011 in Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel.
Marnie was born June 8, 1938 in Billings, MT the daughter of Emanuel and Martha Schneidmiller. She attended schools in Billings, Riggins, Idaho and Boise, ID. On June 30, 1971 she married Larry Higgins in Helena, MT.
In Helena, MT, Marnie worked as a nurse’s aide at St. John’s Hospital and at Cooney Convalescent Home. She later managed a service station for Thunderbird Oil and Flying J in Helena. She moved to Spokane, in 1978, managing the Spokane Flying J. She retired, from Flying J, in 1982 and moved to Elmira to become a home maker.
Marnie loved to crochet, selling her work at the 7th Heaven. She enjoyed raising her garden, canning, and her flower garden.
In addition to her husband Larry she is survived by: 7 children: Janet Williams of Elmira, Jim Welsh, Mike Welsh, Ken Higgins all of Helena, MT, Jay Higgins of Idaho Falls, ID, Paul Johnson of Fredericksburg, VA, Lorrie LaFave of St. Helens, OR; 22 grandchildren 18 great grandchildren; 5 siblings; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, and her grandson Tyrell.
