Kenneth KJ Shankweiler

Kenneth R “K J” Shankweiler, Jr. 47 passed away in Sandpoint, Idaho in November 2011. Memorial Service and Potluck will be held on Friday, December 9th at 5:00 pm at the V.F.W. Hall on Pine Street across from Coffelt Funeral Service. Please feel free to park at the Funeral Home. He was born in Orange County, California on Nov. 23, 1964 and moved to Sandpoint in 1970. He attended local schools and graduated from Sandpoint High School in 1982. He had served with the US National Guard. He lived in New Haven, Connecticut where he earned his Commercial Drivers License. He became an owner/operator and drove long haul truck for many years. For health reasons he moved back to Sandpoint in the late 1990’s and has resided here since. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was able to make his last hunt this fall. He is survived by his father Ken Shankweiler, Sr. in Saipan; his son K J Shankweiler in Boise, Idaho; his sister Lisa Thomas in Virginia; his brother Jason Shankweiler in Saipan; and a step sister Nicole Lane in Spokane. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his mother Daphine Kay.
