James A “Jim” Kendrick, 72, passed away in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011.
Jim was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas on May 20, 1939, the son of James and Lena Kendrick. The family moved to California and he graduated from high school, Oakland, CA in 1957. He served with the US Air Force following the Korean conflict. On Jan. 1, 1965 he married Bobbie Hattox in Reno, NV.
For many years he worked as a land developer in Nevada County California. In 1979 he moved to the Sandpoint area and continued his property development projects. He later supervised construction projects for the Super 8 Motel chain in Idaho and Nevada. In October of 2010 he moved to Elmira, Idaho to be close to his family.
Jim was a Rotarian in Sandpoint and a former president of Rotary in California. He also belonged to the NRA and the DAV.
He is survived by his wife Bobbie Kendrick in Elmira, ID; 3 daughters Sheri (and Pat) Lock in Elmira, ID; Katrina (and Ben) Goldberg in California; and Deborah (and Paul) Howell in Ohio. Also surviving are grandchildren Charley Bell in Arizona; Selena Bell and Ashley Bell in Sandpoint, ID; Ben, Laurel, Adam and Michael, all in California; and a great grandchild Hayden, in California.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 1 sister.
Family memorial services will be held at a later date.
