Frances Doris Palaniuk, was born on Oct. 3, 1921 and passed away in Sandpoint, Idaho on December 14, 2011.
Private family services were held.
Frances was born to Charles Albert (Al) Green and May Frances (Elsasser) Green in Sandpoint, Idaho. She had two older sisters, Merle and Theda. May and Al were later divorced. May married Matt Brenner to whom Mary and Neil were born.
Frances grew up at Elmira, Idaho on the homestead that was purchased by her grandfather from Humbird Mill. Frances resided in Elmira all her life.
In 1940 she married Albert Palaniuk and they later divorced. Frances and Albert had three children, Allen, June, and Dennis.
Frances enjoyed the outdoors. She enjoyed gold panning, huckleberry picking, gardening, fishing and hunting. The fact that Frances hunted late into her 80s was something her grandchildren were proud of and often bragged about. Frances knew much about the Elmira area and attended grade school at the old Elmira schoolhouse which still exists along Highway 95. She later attended high school in Sandpoint.
Frances is survived by her sons: Allen (Linda) Palaniuk and Dennis (Tammy) Palaniuk; and her son-in-law: Gary Tyler. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Shawn (Sheri) Palaniuk, Mark (Tammy) Palaniuk, Lane (Melissa) Palaniuk, Kaira (Jonah) Shaw, Theresa (Mike) Pardick, Kevin (Lorie) Tyler, Scott Tyler, Ryan Palaniuk, Trevor (Katie) Palaniuk, and Cody Palaniuk; two step-grandchildren: Conda Brown, Kelley Paulson; 14 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren. Frances is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law: Mary (Earl) Clausen and brother Neil Brenner.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Merle Waite and Theda Butenko, sister-in-law: Wilma Brenner, and her beloved daughter: June Tyler.
Frances was loved and will be missed by us all.
