Michael Aaron Smith, 50, of Ephrata, WA passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011 at his home of heart failure.
Memorial services will be conducted 1:00PM, Saturday, January 7, 2012 at the Athol Baptist Church.
He was born May 4, 1961 in Coeur d’ Alene, the son of Warren and Shirley Smith of Careywood. He attended Southside Public School through the 8th grade, and later attended high school at Southside Christian School in Cocolalla.
When he was 18 years of age he moved to Ephrata and went to work at Lamb Weston in Quincy, WA where he was employed for over 30 years. He was still employed there at the time of his death.
Mike was a hard working honest man who earned his keep and paid his own way. He worked for the same company for over 30 years and always pulled his own weight. No one can ask for more than that.
Mike lived at peace with his fellow man and with God. He never preached, but rather lived by the Golden Rule, always treating others as he would like to be treated. He treated everyone with respect and dignity. This world could use more men like Mike.
He is survived by his mother: Shirley Smith; 3 brothers: Bert Smith, Joe Smith, Alan smith; 3 sisters: Becky Skala, Bette Ringhand, Rita Bailey all of North Idaho; and by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, 1 brother and 1 niece both of whom died in infancy.
Rest in Peace our brother.
