Dale Boyd Rasmussen

Dale Boyd Rasmussen, 71, of Heron, MT passed away Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012 in Sandpoint. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012 at 11:00 am MST in the Noxon High School Multi Purpose Room, with Father Jeffrey Benusa officiating. Interment will follow in the Heron Cemetery. Dale was born June 23, 1940 in Sandpoint the son of Fay and Kathleen Duffy Rasmussen. He was raised in Heron and attended elementary school there and high school in Noxon. On Oct. 24, 1959 he married Audrey Singbeil in Polson, MT. They lived in Heron, Libby, MT, Santa Fe, NM, Saratoga, WY, finally returning to Heron in 1995 where they have since resided. Dale was a man of many talents. He worked in dam construction, in the oil fields, coal mines, was a lumberman, school bus driver and even owned a service station for a few years. He enjoyed music, and even had his own band. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, and any outdoor activity. In addition to is wife of 52 years, Audrey of Heron he is survived by 2 children: Reggie (Letty) Rasmussen of San Diego, CA, Dena Pennington and her fiancé Scott Phillips of the Dallas, TX area; 5 grandchildren: Michelle, Nicole, Elisa, Elaine, Reggie, Jr.; 2 sisters: Karen (Lee) Rasor of Trout Creek, MT, Peggy (Neil Rose) Nelson of Noxon, MT, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters and 1 brother. Donations are asked to be made to the Heron Fire Department.
