Beloved father and grandfather Fred Page Jr. departed this earth to rest in the arms of his Lord on Sunday morning, January 29, 2012 at the age of 88.
Fred was born in Sharon, Kansas on November 28, 1923, the son of Fred L and Mollie A Page. He graduated from high school in Alden, Kansas in 1941, moving to Seattle, WA. He worked for Boeing Aircraft Co. prior to joining the US Army Air Corp. He flew 42 missions in the European Theatre, flying the B 17s he helped build in Seattle.
On May 23, 1959 he married Wilma Rutherford in Merced, California. He retired, with the rank of Lt Colonel, from the US Air Force in 1966 and moved to Hope, Idaho. Fred established, and operated, Page Charters out of Hope, until 1969. He enjoyed watching his clients catch trophy fish on the lake.
He was a member of BPOE #1376, the American Legion, the Military Officers Association and a life member of the NRA. He coached Jr. Tackle Football for 6 years and umpired American Legion Baseball for 6 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing golf with his friends.
He is survived by two sons John (Lynn) Rutherford of Monticito, CA;
Fred (Elizabeth) Page III of Hope, ID; three grandchildren Ryan Rutherford of Pasadena, CA; Emily Page of Los Angeles, CA; and Katherine page of Chino Hills, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Hannah, and his wife Wilma.
