Lorene A. Garrett went to meet her Lord and Savior on Feb. 11, 2012 seven days before her 90th birthday. What a time of rejoicing in heaven when she saw all of her loved ones that have gone on before her.
Funeral services will be conducted 10:30am, Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at the Sandpoint Assembly of God Church, with Pastor Brian Noble, officiating
Lorene was born February 18th, 1922 in Lamont, Oklahoma. She came to California in the 30’s to escape the dust bowl. She married Roy Garrett on July 17, 1942. Roy was stationed at Farragut and Lorene immediately followed him to live in Sandpoint, Idaho. After the war they returned to Southern California where they lived for 25 years. After Roy retired from the Beverly Hills Police Department they returned back to Sandpoint where they lived for another 40 years. She lived by herself after Roy died in 1996. Her family came to visit her every year enjoying the summers in Sandpoint.
She loved the Lord with all her heart and wanted everyone she met to know Him also. She was the best mom, grandma, great grandma and friend in all the world. Her church meant so much to her. Thank you to all of them for being there for her. Thank you neighbors and friends for keeping an eye on her. She will be missed.
Lorene is survived by 2 children: Shirley and Donna, 4 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and 1 sister: Ilene Summeril.
