Vern Schulze, 75, passed away on Wednesday, August 22, 2007 in Post Falls, Idaho.
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, August 27, 2007 at Coffelt's Funeral Chapel, 109 N. Division Ave., in Sandpoint, Idaho. Pastor John Pomeroy will be officiating.
Interment will take place at Pinecrest Memorial Park Cemetery Niche Wall in Sandpoint, Idaho.
Vern was born on April 20, 1932 on a small farmhouse in Custer County, South Dakota the son of Frank and Evelyn (Plummer) Schulze.
Vern moved with his parents to Sandpoint in 1939. He graduated from Sandpoint High School in 1950. He joined the U.S. Airforce and served in the Korean War. He served 4 years with the U.S. Airforce as an Instrument Mechanic.
After the war he worked winters in Florida and summers on his uncle’s ranch where he also guided hunters in the fall.
He met his wife Gisela in Florida where they were married in 1961. They moved back to the Sandpoint area and enjoyed 46 years of wonderful marriage.
Vern was a skilled carpenter building homes in and around Sandpoint including their own home 40 years ago.
He was a volunteer fire fighter for the Northside Fire Department for 21 years. He was active in youth sports for years.
Vern was a loving husband and father and a very good friend to many. We will all miss you Dad.
Vern is survived by his wife Gisela, sons Wayne Kevin Schulze and his wife Emily; James Michael Schulze and his wife Kim. Six grandsons, one granddaughter and one great grandson.
Vern was preceded in death by his parents.
