Elizabeth J “Liz” Kemp, 81, passed away at her home, near Sandpoint, on Monday, February 13, 2012.
The vigil/rosary service will be held at 7:00pm, Friday, February 17th in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00am, Saturday, February 18th, in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Father Dennis C. Day will be the Celebrant and interment will be in Pinecrest Memorial Park.
Liz was born on Dec. 22, 1930 in St. Paul, Minnesota the daughter of John and Magdalena Weisz. The family moved to Kootenai, ID in 1931 where she attended the Kootenai School and then graduated from Sandpoint High School in 1949.
On Nov. 1, 1952 she married Paul Kemp in Thompson Falls, Montana. Liz helped run Kemp’s Texaco, at the North end of the Long Bridge, later Kemp’s Conoco and Quick Mart.
She enjoyed the simple things of life, especially her family
and friends She liked spending time with, going to lunch with and cooking for her family and friends. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
Liz is survived by her three children Randy (and Bonnie) Kemp in Hayden, ID; Jeff Kemp in Sandpoint, ID; Candy (and Rod) MacDonald in Yelm, WA; 6 grandchildren Melinda Kemp in Cocolalla, ID; Christopher Kemp in Sandpoint, ID; Andrea Hunt in Post Falls, ID; Ryan MacDonald in West Richland, WA; Brooke MacDonald in Yelm, WA; and Rebecca Kemp in Hayden, ID; three great grand daughters Rachel, Sarah and Bethany Hunt.
Also surviving are three sisters Mary Mitton in Ponderay, ID; Ann Stutzke in Sandpoint, ID; Barbara Bouse in Ponderay, ID; and two brothers Joe Weisz in Sandpoint, ID; and John Weisz in Otis Orchards, WA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
