David Ian Williams

September 12, 1955 — February 17, 2012

David Ian Williams, age 56, born September 12, 1955- beloved husband, dad, son and brother will be lovingly missed. He went to sleep in Jesus Friday, February 17th , 2012 because of ALS. His love of scripture: 1 Thessalonians 4:13 & 16- Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep... For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Therefore comfort one another with these words. Dave's last sermon was February 4, 2012 with the Pastor and his love for Jesus brought many see this Savior wonderfully. Dave's love for Hebrew (college education) has evolved many deep written scripture studies. Software Engineer for Siemens' Medical and several local manufactures was his enjoyable desire for employment. Outside exploring...hiking, biking, and snow playing was his wondrous time. Bonner County Planning & Zoning Commissioner for the last year was a true monthly excitement and real use of his intelligent ability...much appreciation to the whole team was often expressed by Dave. He was preceded in death by his father John Williams. Survived by his wife, Becky, daughter (and husband) Tabitha and Terrence Umali of MI, step-daughter, Jenny Maxwell, SC, two NC brothers and families, Mike (Connie) and Andy (Cindy) Williams, mum, Mary Williams, two NC sister-in-laws and families, Rita (Jim) Clayton, and Robin (Bob) Shepard, one brother-in-law, Rick McClure and 10 nephews and 1 niece. His loved dog Henry Higgins really misses him. Blessed by the Bonner General Hospice team, and many Seventh Day Adventist members helped his ALS process; especially caregivers Chris Palafox, and the Ed Rojic family. His celebration memorial will be Saturday February 25th at 4pm at the Sandpoint Seventh Day Adventist Church. In lieu of flowers, please donate to SDA missionaries, ALS research, or a local "Helping Hand".
