Henry Luther Felts

March 27, 1938 — March 5, 2012

Henry L. “Butch” Felts, 73, passed away on Monday, March 5, 2012 in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho. Butch was born March 27, 1938 in Dalhart, Texas and moved with his family to Careywood, Idaho in 1947 when he was nine years old, and attended local schools. Butch spent his grown up years working at the area sawmills, and serving six years in the Idaho National Guard. He also trucked for a few years, purchasing a wholesale milk route franchise that he operated on the coast of California for three years. He then purchased an over the road truck and transported fresh vegetables from California to Canada, later converting the truck to a logging truck and sold it. He also spent a year in Alaska as a mechanic, then returning to work once again in area sawmills. Butch loved to hunt and taught each of his four sons to appreciate firearms at an early age. A long time Careywood resident, Butch had many friends and family who will miss him greatly. Butch is survived by his wife of 54 years, Charlotte, four sons, Reo, Joe, Mark and Carl (Shirae) as well as a sister, Joy Felts and special friends Lee Deihl, and Dale and Flora Morris. Butch leaves grandchildren Justin, James (Brandi), Partrick, Jason (Alicia), Joshua (Cori), Jennifer, Tiana, Dalton, Amanda, Wesley, Tabitha, Candis, Sierra and Azlyn as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces nephews and inlaws. Butch was preceded in death by his parents, Gus and Luther Felts, a brother, C.A. Felts and a grandson, Cliford. A celebration of Butch’s life and the scattering of his ashes will be held later in the summer.
