Leroy Irving Erlwein, 92, passed away in Spokane, WA on Sunday, March 11, 2012.
Family graveside services were conducted, on Thursday, March 15, 2012.
Dale Coffelt officiated at the service.
Leroy was born on August 13, 1919 in Seattle, WA. He attended school in the Seattle area, graduating from high school, and also went to Washington State University. He worked as a Government Meat Inspector for the packing plants in Spokane. In 1973 he retired at the age of 54.
During WW II he served with the US Army Air Corp, working as an airplane mechanic.
Following retirement he lived in Moyie Springs, Idaho and Newport, Washington. He was a long time member of the Eagles lodge in Newport, Washington and was an avid fisherman.
Leroy is survived by 2 children Connie D. Phinney in Mead, Washington; and Jeff Smith in Bellingham, Washington. Also surviving are 4 grand children, and 6 great grand children.
