Grace Marquerite Wenger

Grace M. Wenger, 88, passed away in Post Falls, Idaho on Sunday, March 11, 2012. Services will be conducted at 1:00 pm, Saturday, March 24, 2012 in the Sandpoint Church of the Nazarene. Pastor Chad Wilks will be officiating. Private family interment services were held in Pinecrest Memorial Park. Grace was born in Glasgow, Montana on February 27, 1924 the daughter of George and Marie Dunkelberger. She attended schools in the Glasgow area and graduated from high school. The family moved to Kootenai, Idaho in 1946. She also became a nurse’s aid, through Bonner General Hospital, and worked there for over 30 years. She especially liked working in the nursery. Grace married Horace Wenger on July 19, 1947 in Sandpoint, Idaho and they operated the family dairy farm in Kootenai. She was a longtime, and active, member of the Church of the Nazarene in Sandpoint. She enjoyed cooking, her garden, canning the produce, and taking care of her family. She is survived by 3 sons Gordon Wenger in Seattle, WA; Charles Wenger in Barron, WI; John Wenger in Post Falls, ID; 5 grand children , numerous great grand children; and a brother Gordon Bloomquist in Scobey, MT. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Horace.
