Pearl Elizabeth Callen, 87, passed away in Sandpoint, Idaho on Monday, September 17, 2007. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm, Friday, September 21, 2007 in Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel, 109 N. Division Ave. in Sandpoint, Idaho. Pastor Tony Nelson, First Christian Church, will officiate with interment to follow in Pinecrest Memorial Park. Friends may call for visitation on Thursday, September 20, 2007 at Coffelt Funeral Service, from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm. Pearl was born in Carpenter, WY on May 3, 1920 the daughter of John and Marjorie Springer. The family moved to the Morton area in 1933 and she attended Bonner County Schools. She married Thomas H. Callen on June 12, 1937 in Sandpoint, ID. In 1945 they moved to the family farm in Sagle. In 1971 she became a tax accountant for H and R Block and in 1973 established Pearl’s Income Tax Business. She also worked for Frank Chapin Accounting Services, retiring in 1985. Pearl was a member of the First Christian Church, teaching Sunday school and acting as a group leader for bible studies. She was a former member of the Sagle Helping Hand Club and was also involved with the 4-H program as her children grew up. She is survived by 3 sons John of Las Vegas, NV; Clyde and Bill both of Sagle, ID; 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren, her sister Bertha Coulston of Sandpoint, ID. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Tom, a daughter Marjorie, a son Martin, a granddaughter Lynn Marie, and 2 sisters Jean and Mary.
