Anna Kokot

Anna Kokot, 97, of Sagle, passed away Sunday, April 29, 2012 at Life Care. She was born January 4, 1915 in Allentown, PA. She moved to Buffalo, NY at 2 years of age where she was raised. She began working at the age of twelve in a boarding house for three dollars a week to help with family finances. She married Emerick (Mike) Kokot in 1936 in Buffalo. During the war she worked in a defense plant in Buffalo. In 1945 they moved to California where they lived until his death in 1965. In 1971 she moved to Sagle to be with her son and daughter-in-law. Anna enjoyed flowers and was an excellent baker, making delicious pastries for her family. The greatest joy in her life was her family. She is survived by her son: Mike (Thelma) Kokot of Sagle; grandson Mike Kokot and great granddaughter: Sarah (Johnny Johnston) Kokot. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 sisters and 2 brothers. Private family services will be held at a later time.
