Marie Louise Osborn

Marie Louise Osborn, 84, entered into rest on Sunday, September 23, 2007 in Sandpoint, Idaho with her children by her side. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, September 29, 2007 at Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel, 109 N. Division Ave., in Sandpoint, Idaho with Doctor F. “Dean” Hackett from the Hidden Valley Worship Center officiating. Burial will be at Pinecrest Memorial Park. Marie was born on May 25, 1923 in Sandpoint, Idaho to Norwegian emigrants Anton and Mina (Karlstad) Slette. She attended Sandpoint schools, marrying Wade Brown in 1940. Four children were born to this union. In 1957 she married Edison Stidwell from Sandpoint, Idaho and they lived in Centralia, Washington, Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, and Spokane Valley, Washington for many years until Ed passed away in 1971. While attending Sandpoint High School Reunion in 1972, she met Kenneth Osborn, also from Sandpoint, Idaho, and they later married and spent 29 wonderful years together living in Spokane Valley, Washington until his death in 2001. Marie had beautiful flowers and vegetables gardens. She took a lot of pride in being a home maker, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. You always felt welcome in her home, and she was also a “Mom” to many. She loved spending time with her 12 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren. Memories created at “grandma Marie’s” will be with them forever. Marie is survived by her sons Wade Brown of Sandpoint, Id., and Douglas Brown of Vista, Ca.; daughters Diane (Mike) Whitney of Sequim, Wa., Judy (Russ) Gill and Janis Favorel of Spokane, Wa.; brother Hans (Vi) Slette of Woodburn, Or.; sisters Ruth Rodeen of Clarkston, Wa., Virginia (Bill) Jones of Sagle, Id. and her sister-in-law Helen Riggs of Lewiston, Id. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Osborne, John, Orville, and Richard Slette. Sisters Judith, Christine and June. Fomer husband Wade Brown in 1994. Memorial donations may be made in Marie’s name to a favorite charity. “The love she passed on to us will be forever in our hearts”.
