Laura Luella Davenport, 81, passed away at her home in Kootenai, Idaho on Sunday, October 7, 2007.
Memorial services will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Saturday, October 20, 2007 in Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel, 109 N. Division Ave., in Sandpoint, Idaho. Pastor Steve Bradshaw, Cocolalla Cowboy Church, will be officiating.
Laura was born in Samuels, Idaho on April 20, 1926, the daughter of Elmer and Minnie Inman. She attended the Grouse Creek School and married John Breeden on April 12, 1947.
He preceded her in death in 1984.
For many years she worked at the Traveler’s Motel and also at the Lakeside Motel.
She married Paul Davenport in 1989 in Craig, Alaska and made her home in Craig, Alaska for 23 years returning to Kootenai in August 2005.
Laura was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Craig Alaska, and the Cocolalla Cowboy Church. She enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, sewing, and making wedding cakes. She loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her sister Dorothy Rickertson; her children Diana (and Billie) Rice, Janie (and Allan) Decker, Linda (and Bob) Howard, Rick (and Jaylene) Breeden; her
Stepchildren, Paul (and Happy) Davenport Jr., Tim (and Paula) Davenport, Dick (and Tootie) Dexter, Don Dexter, and Dewayne Dexter. Also surviving are 20 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands John Breeden and Paul Davenport,
6 brothers LeRoy, Whitie (Raymond), Blackie (Martin), John, Bud (Clifford), and Bill (William), 3 sisters Carry Inman, Elsie Hoover, and Leona Wilson. Her son Tom Rickett, and her daughter Cathy Converse.
