Craig Alan Bloom, January 19, 1958 to June 30, 2012 favorite (and only) son of Patricia and the late Ed Bloom, succumbed to injuries he received June 16, 2012 when he struck a deer while riding his Harley on highway 200 near the Pack River bridge. Born and raised in Sandpoint, Idaho, Craig started school in Kootenai and graduated in 1976 from Sandpoint High School.
Following some years working as an oil field roughneck, car stereo installer, and salesman for Evergreen Ford, Craig moved into entrepreneurship when he opened GlassWorks, an auto glass repair and installation business. More recently Craig earned his class A CDL and worked for Nick Barker owner of Selkirk Transport Services and his longtime friend Randy Powers as a truck driver. All the while (about 30 years) Craig also held a partnership in and operated the only Black Cat Fireworks stand in the Sandpoint area. Craig loved to fish and won the 1993 Fall K & K fishing derby with a 25 lb. 11oz. Kamloops Rainbow. He also had a love for motorcycles, racing motocross in his younger years and cruising on his Harley as he got a bit older. Craig made many trips to Sturgis SD, riding alongside his best friend Wayne Becker. Craig loved the open road, the sights, sounds, and smells. He roamed the South Dakota countryside, cruised through the Big Sky State, and explored side roads, back roads, highways and interstates from Casper Wyoming to Seattle Washington.
Craig was preceded in death by his father Ed Bloom and his brother-in-law Glen Rohrich.
He is loved and survived by his mother Patricia Bloom; children: Amelia and Poppy; sisters: Cari (Doug) Stockdale and Kim Rohrich; nephew: Garrett Stockdale and his significant other Jordan Hurley, plus great nephew Oliver Stockdale; nieces: Libby (Isaac) Schoonover, Taylor Rohrich, and significant other Cheyenne Miller.
