Charles William “Skip” Cressey was born in Spokane, WA on March 7, 1948; adopted by William and Grace Cressey. The family moved to the Kansas City area when Skip was 9, but they spent most summers on Lake Pend Oreille.
Skip went to the University of Idaho where he graduated and was commissioned into the Air Force. There he met and married Carol Chapin of Sandpoint. They had two daughters, Tonia and Terra. After several years of travel, they settled in the Kansas City area to take care of Skip’s aging parents.
In 2007, Skip moved to North Idaho and settled in a cozy apartment a few miles from family and work. He worked at Wal-Mart in electronics and the photo lab.
Skip loved live music and dancing with his daughters. He loved riding his bike and being on the beautiful lake where he grew up. Skip was a humble, positive man; always smiling with a kind word.
Skip was preceded in death by his parents; William E. and Grace E. Cressey. He is survived by his former wife, Carol Cressey; daughters Tonia Cressey and Terra Cressey; and grandson Logan Cressey.
There will be a memorial service and reception at the Gardenia Center in Sandpoint, Wednesday, August 1st at 4:00 pm.
