Budd Dunn, 75, of Sandpoint, long time Forest Service employee passed away, Thursday, July 26, 2012 at Bonner General Hospital\
Budd was born Sept. 2, 1936, the only child of Lenny and Ray Dunn, in Sandpoint, Idaho.
Graduating from Sandpoint High in 1955, where he enjoyed
football and numerous high school activities. The summer after graduating, Budd had his first experience with the U. S. Forest Service, when he signed onto the Blister Rust Campaign at $1.50 per hour. That fall he attended the University of Idaho Forestry Program.
Budd served in the U.S, Navy 1956-1958. After returning home, he married Patsy Winterton, Sept. 5, 1959. They had one son, Paegon, in August 1961.
Budd went to work for the U.S.Forest Service in 1962, working his way into the position of Cartographic Technician, until retiring in 1994.
In his younger years Budd was an avid sportsman, loving to hunt, fish and camp. He earned his surveying certificate and in his spare time coached Junior Tackle.
He was preceded in death by both parents, Lenny and Ray, wife Patsy and son Paegon. Budd will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
As per his wishes, a private family graveside service will be held at Pack River Cemetery.
