Charles "Chip" Alan Lamb

July 31, 1947 — July 31, 2012

Charles “Chip” Alan Lamb passed away on July 31, 2012 at the age of 65. He was born on July 31, 1947 in Vancouver, WA. He spent his early years in Soap Lake, WA until his family moved to Cordova, AK when he was fourteen years old. This is where he developed a love for commercial fishing. He gillnetted the Copper River for many years and seined his fishing vessel the Quad-L in Prince William Sound until 1995 when a stroke forced him to retire. He was well-known in the Sandpoint, ID area for raising and breeding Norwegian Fjord horses at Quad-L Ranch. The horses quickly became his new love with their gentle disposition, versatility and their capacity to work. His favorite time of year was spring as the babies were born, but used the Fjords throughout the year for riding, skidding logs, pulling wagons and even running sleigh rides on Schweitzer Mountain for many winters. Chip was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy Cook, brother Mike Lamb and sister Neta Hussey. He is survived by the mother of his children, Susie Blake-Lamb, his son Chris (Valerie) Lamb, and their children Jacey Lamb, Dixon Lamb and Cooper Lamb; daughter Annette (David) Moore, and their children Sam Moore, Ian Moore and Zephan Moore; brothers Jack Lamb and Jerry Lamb; sisters Betty Schuessler and Sally Stedman; and lifelong friends Jim Johnson and Michael “Jug” Kompkoff. The family would like to give special thanks to Steve and Teresa Didion, Larry and Lynn Boe and Amber Larson for their love and caring friendship, especially in past few years of Chip’s life. There will be a potluck to celebrate Chip’s life at his home on Thursday, August 9, 2012 from 5:00-7:00PM for friends hosted by Owen and Mary Mullen.
