Arthur J. "Smokey" Chubb, Jr.

Arthur Joseph Chubb III better known to family and friends as Smokey lost his battle with cancer early August 19th... Arthur was born to Arthur Chubb Jr. and Viola Turpin on March 30th, 1947. The youngest of three children with two sisters Becky Armour and Paddy Wesselman. Smokey was born and raised in the town of Sandpoint. Smokey excelled in sports at SHS, then went on to the U of I where he still holds records in football. Smokey’s greatest loves were his family and fishing on lakes Pend Oreille and Koocanusa. Nothing made him happier than fishing with friends and family. Smokey is survived by his love Freda; children: Paul, Rae-Lynn, Tom, AJ, Tina, Jeff and Heidi. Grandchildren Christina, Jake, Dalton, Taylor, Brock, Quinton, Nycole, Aaron, Jayda; and great grandchild Adelyn. Special thanks from the family of Smokey to family friends, doctors and hospice for all the care he was given. A celebration of Smokey’s life will be held at a later date.
