Pauline Julia Sipes, 93, passed away in Sandpoint, Idaho on Sunday, August 19, 2012.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am Friday in Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel. Pastor Jon Pomeroy, Sandpoint Church of God, will be officiating with burial in Pinecrest Memorial Park.
Pauline was born on Nov. 14, 1918 in New Salem, North Dakota and attended school there. In New Salem she worked on the family farm with her parents. In 1945 she moved to North Idaho and worked at the cafeteria on Farragut Naval Base.
She moved to Sandpoint in 1950 working, as a waitress, at the Copper Penny Café, Slims Café and later Connie’s. For 20 years she was a sales clerk at Anthony’s, and later at Taft’s, prior to her retirement in 1989.
Pauline enjoyed reading and crocheting.
She is survived by her sister Katherine Woodbury in Sandpoint, Idaho; 2 nephews Gary Gappert and Roger Gappert; and 2 nieces Jean Schulz and LaVerne Weber; numerous great nieces and great nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her son Ron Sipes, 2 nephews, and a niece.
