Ruby E. Harkey

Ruby E. Harkey, 94, passed away in Sandpoint, Idaho on Tuesday, August 21, 2012. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am, Tuesday, August 28th; in Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel. Father Dennis C. Day, St Joseph’s Catholic Church, will officiate with burial in Pinecrest Memorial Park. Ruby was born in Chateaugay, New York, ON March 14, 1918, moving to California as a child where she graduated from high school. During WW II she worked for Douglas Aircraft and on Oct. 24, 1943 she married Dick Harkey in Lynwood, California. She moved to Sagle, Idaho in 1980 and has been a member of the Idaho Writers League since 1992. Ruby enjoyed bowling on leagues, fishing and doing craft work. Ruby is survived by her son and daughter in law Clint and Patty Harkey in Sagle, ID; 5 grand children and 5 great grand children. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dick Harkey, 2 brothers and a sister.
