Hazel Mae Kenny, 90, of Spirit Lake passed away on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012 at her home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm, Sunday, December 23rd in the Edgemere Seventh Day Adventist Church. Private family interment will be in the Seneacquoteen Cemetery.
Hazel was born in Spokane, Washington on April 30, 1922 the daughter of Ernest and Nicolena Larson. She attended the Auburn Academy in Auburn, Washington and worked in the Portland naval shipyards during WW II.
On July 12, 1947 she married Harry Kenny in Spokane, Washington. They lived in Hot Springs and Thompson Falls, Montana until 1966 when they moved to the Vay/Edgemere area. She moved to Spirit Lake, Idaho in 2009.
For many years she worked as a cook at Harold’s IGA and the Edgewater. She loved to sew, quilt, garden and pick huckleberries. She was a member of the Edgemere Seventh Day Adventist Church and the Vay Community Club.
Hazel is survived by her husband, of 65 years, Harry Kenny in Spirit Lake, ID; three daughters Linda Brennen in Sandpoint, ID; Charlotte Schober in Lincoln, NE; Kathryn Fridlund in Stanwood, WA; 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers Clark Larson and Ralph Larson and a sister Gladys Gauthier.
