Marie Jean Goll, 98, passed away in Sandpoint, Idaho on Tuesday,
January 22, 2008.
Memorial services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Friday, January 25th, in the Laclede Community Church. Pastor Dan Moore will officiate.
Marie was born on Sept. 28, 1909 in Union Hill, NJ where she was raised in a family of 13. She attended school in NY and later worked as an interior decorator for Francis Roger and Sons in NY,
On June 30th, 1930 in the Bronx, NY she maarried Earl M. Goll, C.W.O. with the US Navy. Her husband was called to active duty and she spent her honeymoon alone, on a cruise into the Panama Canal, seeing Havana, Cuba and returning to New York.
He served with the Navy for 22 years and they lived in San Diego and Chula Vista, CA for 52 years. She worked as a nurse, and purchasing agent for the Community Hospital in Chula Vista, CA retiring in 1975.In 1984 she moved to East Hope, ID for 1 year and in 1985 moved to Laclede, ID.
She was a lifetime member of the Community Hospital Auxiliary in Chula Vista, CA, and a member of the 4th Fighter Command Service Corp during WW II. She was a longtime member of the Laclede Community Church.
Her son Ronald E. Goll of Reno, NV, 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren survive her. Also surviving are four sisters Ann Germano of RI; Alyce Keefe of CA; Gloria Blake of CA; and Rita Manis of NY.
Her parents, her husband Earl, a daughter, a grandson, 3 sisters, and 3 brothers preceded her in death.
