LaNelda Conrad, 88, passed away on Monday, January 14, 2013 at her home in Sandpoint, Idaho.
Family services will be held at a later date.
LaNelda was born in Colville, WA on May 26, 1924 and moved to Sunnyside, CA as a child. She grew up in the Pasadena area where she attended local schools. She worked for Douglas Aircraft at the Mare Island Naval Station in California.
She joined the US Marine Corp in 1951 and was discharged in 1961. She also served with the Idaho National Guard, 116th Engineers Battalion until her retirement in 1984. She was a free lance photographer for the National Guard.
LaNelda married Charles Conrad on Dec. 1, 1961 in Alexandria, VA and moved to Sandpoint in 1963. She was a member of the Marine Corp League, other military organizations and the Northwest Classic Motorcycle Club. She enjoyed photography, riding her vintage motorcycle, gardening, hunting and fishing.
She is survived by her son Clayton Miles Conrad in San Jose, CA; her daughter Roxane Conrad in Sandpoint, ID; and three grand children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother Maynard Putman.
