Daniel Rroy Friesen

Daniel Roy Friesen, 67, passed away on Friday, January 11, 2013 at his home near Sandpoint. Family services will be held later in the spring. Daniel was born on December 29, 1945 in Hillsboro, Kansas the son of George and Esther Friesen. The family later moved to Sandpoint and he graduated from Sandpoint High School in 1964. Following high school he served with the US Navy during the Vietnam conflict. He lived in Sandpoint, working for Harold’s IGA. He also worked for the Spokane International and later for the Union Pacific Railroad. He was a bridge crewman prior to his retirement. He enjoyed golfing and outdoor activities in the area. Daniel is survived by his siblings Barbara Evans in Temple, TX; Vera Gerlicher in Stayton, OR; Robert J. Friesen in Tucson, AZ; Dave Friesen in Electric City, WA; Timothy Friesen in Omak, WA; and Sharon Ruth in Stayton, OR. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents.
