Linda Lee (Thurlow) Rosholt left this world to rest in the arms of Jesus on February 20, 2013, surrounded by her loving family at her home in Sandpoint after a year long battle with Lou Gehrig's Disease (ALS).
She was the only child born to Leonard Thurlow and Amy (Nettleingham) Thurlow. Linda was born in the old Page Hospital on July 8, 1943. She attended Lincoln Elementary School, Sandpoint Jr. High and Sr. High, and North Idaho College. She worked many years in Social Services and hospitality related services. She married Richard (Chic) Bloom in 1961 and they had three beautiful daughters, Shelley, Jodi and Kirsten; they divorced in 1973. Linda was a single parent for 13 years and raised her three daughters.
She reacquainted with an old love Darrell A. Rosholt and they married on June 20, 1987. Linda and Darrell enjoyed travel along the Oregon Coast where they spent many hours beach walking, crabbing and enjoying each other. Darrell and Linda worked side by side at Rosholt's Shoe Service. They had a love of antiques and built a business out of that love; Darrell still operates in the Antique Collective at Foster's Crossing. In the fall of 1997 they bought a second home in Hurdsfield, North Dakota, a smalll town that reminded them both of the Sandpoint they grew up in. They spent springs and autumns there each year, going to estate sales and antique huntiing. Linda and Darrell still have many close friends in Hurdsfield and the surrounding area. Linda loved her family and one of her great joys was the Christmas holiday season when she hosted large family gatherings.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents Leonard in 1971 and Amy in 1995, her sister Alice (Sis) Baker-Dukart, her brother Charles (Bub) Baker, and a niece Rebecca Dukart. She is survived by her husband Darrell at their home, her four children and seven grandchildren, Shelley Lang and daughter Karly, Kenny Rosholt and daughter Megan, Jodi (Clint) Brewington and children Megan, Autumn, Samantha and Chandler, Kirsten (Shawn) Shreffler and their children Heatherly and Bryce. Linda was blessed with one great-grandchild, Addilyn. Linda also leaves behind four nieces, five nephews, and many loved cousins and her beloved dog Angel.
A memorial service honoring Linda will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2013, 3:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Sandpoint with Pastor Stan Norman officiating.
A potluck reception will be held in the Elk’s Club following the service.
