Linda La Juan Attison, 61, lost her battle with cancer on Wednesday, February 27th in Spokane at Hospice House of Spokane.
Family services will be held at a later date.
She was born September 24, 1951 in Fort Worth Texas. Linda was fun loving, adventurous, and loved life. She was the youngest of four and the only girl. Much to her mother’s despair, she was a “tom boy” from the moment she could walk. Not wanting to play with the dolls her mother gave her, she would rather shoot bow and arrows with her brothers. She told many stories of adventures with her brothers, from being stuck in a tree with no leaves for hours by a raging bull, to trying to catch and beat her brother Mike for reading her diary.
Linda stated that one of her greatest adventures was when she went sky diving in her fifties. Linda lived in many states as a child and an adult but was happiest in the state of Washington. She loved the beauty and wildlife of the Pacific Northwest. Although Linda was a very private and independent person, she had many people she called friend. Family was the most important thing to Linda and she would give all she had to take care of any of them. She loved children and raised or guided more than she gave birth to. All of her grandchildren would have gladly given up their own parents to live with Grandma Linda.
She was a formidable matriarch, and heaven help anyone she thought was a threat to her children or grandchildren. As her family we can only state, though the words are inadequate, we loved her greatly and will miss her. Many friends have stated that since Linda birthed her daughter by herself, and was the one to hold and guide her into this world, that it was fitting that her daughter was the one who held her hand as she peacefully left this life behind.
