Mabel Saxon Campbell, 87, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 in Sandpoint, Idaho.
Memorial services will be conducted at 11:00 am, Thursday, March 14th in Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel. Pastor Jon L Pomeroy, Sandpoint Church of God, will be officiating. Inurnment will be in Pinecrest Memorial Park.
Mabel was born in Castleford, England on March 12, 1925 the daughter of Walter and Annie Hooper. She lived in England, where she graduated from high school. She emigrated, from England, to Michigan and then moved to Long Beach, California where she worked in motel management.
On December 29, 1970 she married John R. Campbell in Long Beach, California. John and Mabel lived in England from 1972 until 1975 when they moved to the Sandpoint area. They established, and operated, Campbell’s Commercial Laundry on Superior Street. Mabel retired in 1979 enjoying sewing, painting, knitting, kayaking, and traveling in the RV.
She is survived by her husband John R Campbell in Sandpoint, ID; her nephew John (and Ellen) Phillip Lea in Aiken, South Carolina and their children Kayla and Ethan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, in England, and her sister Margaret Lea.
